A noter quelques précisions utiles :
- Il ne demande pas d’adresse aux US et ne la met pas non plus sur son agence ou autre, l’adresse est celle du RV itinérant
- Paiement que par carte bancaire en l’appelant : il n’a pas besoin du code de sécurité
- Rabais en cas de Storage (de combien j’en sais rien, et compliqué car remboursement uniquement par … chèque !!) (Etonnant pour US)

Hi Nicolas,
please find attached the regular Quotes I can offer you for your recreational vehicle and for the 125ccm Bike.
One of them is full coverage, the second is comprehensive, and one with is liability only. Deductibles are both $5000 USD. This is the only deductible option the insurance company is willing to offer, since its an European vehicle and Bike.
We calculated the premiums with a value of $200,000 for your MAN Vehicle, and with only you as driver with valid, foreign driver’s license and since you travel with your car in the US and have no residence here, we also quoted the camper as “primary residence” and included the Full Timers package, which is mandatory for this kind of insurance.
We also excluded the “uninsured Motorist” coverage, since i believe that you already have a health insurance which covers the hospital bills in case something happens. (Please check this with your Health insurance!)
Offroad driving and excursions are not covered.
Please be advised, that this insurance only covers Alaska, Canada and the United States. Mexico is excluded.
Policies like this can be issued with an US Bank Account (Routing# and Account# and name on the Account) or with a regular European Credit Card (Card# + expiration date + sec Number)
All the Quotes and Policies are semiannual policies. A policy can only be cancelled midterm if proof of sale of the vehicle, export paperwork or proof of another insurance policy is provided to the insurance company. After the cancellation, you will receive a refund check – please talk with your bank in Europe if this check can be cashed there! There is no other option – only by check.
Depending on the start of your journey we would need to requote the offers, since we are not able to quote more than 4-6 weeks ahead. Please be advised that the premiums can change anytime! To issue such a policy – we would need copies of your drivers licenses, copies of the vehicle paperwork – and valid payment information.
Please feel free to contact me in any questions you have.
Best Regards,
Jens Haselhuhn

Hi Mr Haselhuhn,
Thank you for your answer, for your précisions, and for the différent options
For me it's perfect, I have all the information and clarification I need
For the motorbike in liability it is ok for me
For the RV for simplicity I think to stay also in liability
I am aware that in case of complete coverage the repair of a European vehicle in North America costs a lot of money ( the repair parts do not exist in the USA and should come from Europe, and would be very expensive)
I don't want to create complicated problems, it's already nice to offer me this insurance, so in liability it will be perfect for me
In reply to your clarifications here is what I confirm you have understood:
"we also quoted the camper as “primary residence”
If I understand correctly that I have no address in the USA, the address of the contract is the RV itself, in itinerant tourism, is that right?
If yes no problem for me it is OK
"We also excluded the “uninsured Motorist” coverage ... (Please check this with your Health insurance!)"
Yes it is OK for me, we (the people) are covered for accidental medical problems even if the responsible vehicle is not insured
"Offroad driving and excursions are not covered" "Mexico is excluded"
OK i understand no problem for me
"Policies like this can be issued with an US Bank Account (Routing# and Account# and name on the Account) or with a regular European Credit Card (Card# + expiration date + sec Number)"
I do not understand exactly how to do it: I phone you with the numbers of my VISA bank card? (It's a bit annoying to write them by mail)
Is it possible to make a bank transfer directly to you? If yes, please give me the IBAN number of the account to be credited
I will prefer this solution if possible for you (if not no problems with the VISA card if no other solution)
"Depending on the start of your journey we would need to requote the offers, since we are not able to quote more than 4-6 weeks ahead"
Ok I understand.
It would be nice to start insurance around April 20: if I understand correctly I will contact you in the middle of March to refine the quotation and make the bank transfer for a year, is that right?
A precision please: the renewal every year is done automatically, just do you make the bank transfer?
Otherwise, is it necessary or useful to specify to you the periods during which the truck will be a few months immobilized in storage? (When we return to France)
"We would need copies of your drivers licenses, copies of the vehicle paperwork – and valid payment information"
OK for the valid payment information
Copies drivers licence and vehicule papework: You should have them in the documents attached the last time (I give you them as an attachment, no problem)
Thank you for taking the time for these details, but it is better for everyone that everything is as clear as possible.
Cordially
Nicolas

Hi Nicolas,
That fine – I told you – if there are any questions – you can contact me.
I will answer your questions as shown below:
"we also quoted the camper as “primary residence”
Yes – If you have no residence in the United states – no house – no home – we need to declare the camper as primary residence. The Mailing address will be our office address. This is a special agreement between the insurance company and our agency - since normally nobody without a residence in the USA is able to get insurance coverage.
"We also excluded the “uninsured Motorist” coverage ... (Please check this with your Health insurance!)"
As I already said – please contact your insurance company in Europe to make sure Health insurance in USA is covered for the time of your trip.
"Policies like this can be issued with an US Bank Account (Routing# and Account# and name on the Account) or with a regular European Credit Card (Card# + expiration date + sec Number)"
Unfortunately there is no Option to transfer money from Europe with IBAN and BIC. This is only for transactions within Europe. In the United States most of the Banks have no IBAN or BIC – so you will not be able to transfer money to us. The only way to transfer Money would be an so called “Wire Transfer” but the fee for a transfer depends on the amount which is transferred. So this option would be more expensive. The easiest way to pay iss a creditcard. For that - I would need the creditcard Number and the expiration date – I don’t need the security Number from the back.
Please also keep in mind to give your bank of the CreditCard an Information that a payment from USA is coming. Most EU-Cards are blocked for payments in the USA. If – you are also able to fax this information to us – because of security matters/reasons.
“Depending on the start of your journey we would need to requote the offers, since we are not able to quote more than 4-6 weeks ahead”
Yes- middle of March would be great – so we still have enough time to recalculate the quotes and send you the final prices we can offer.
The renewal each year is not automatically. You will receive an Email from Progressive – and if you want to renew the policy – you will have to do a payment online, or you contact us and we will do the payment online for you, with your Card informations.
If you store the vehicle in the states – and leave the country, we can activate the “Garage Mode”. We reduce every coverage to the state minimum which is necessary (because you need to have insurance coverage) and you will be refunded prorated in form of a check. When you come back – we reactivate the insurance coverage to the chosen coverage as issued – but you have to give us the exact dates.
"We would need copies of your drivers licenses, copies of the vehicle paperwork – and valid payment information"
Yes – your are right. I already have all the paperwork (drivers license and registration).
I hope I answered all your questions – and if you have more – let me know. I would like to explain you everything necessary regarding insurance – so you will have a nice trip without headaches
Best regards and greetings from Florida,
Jens Haselhuhn

Hello,
Thank you very much for this précisions, all is clear for me
I will give you my Credit Card (VISA) number + expiration date, and I will notify my bank to avoid a security lock, no problem.
And to do every year after the mail received from Progressive
And I will send you the exact dates of flights when we return to France and then return to the USA, leaving the truck in the US in a storage (well if I do not forget !!)
Health insurance in USA: OK understood
I will therefore contact you at the beginning of March for the final quote and the payment, ij it's OK for you ?
Thank you very much and have a good winter by then
Nicolas Poccard-Chapuis
PS: Here the temperatures are not the same as in Florida, photos attached!

Hi Nicolas,
Thank you for this beautiful pictures. I originally come from Germany so I know how beautiful the winter over there can be.
I showed the pictures to my Floridian coworkers and I should say to you, that they are very jealous because they never saw something like that
I’m looking forward to hear from you in march – if there are any questions by then, please let me know.
Best Regards,
Jens Haselhuhn
